Help With Cooloing Temps...???
Here is a quick description of my setup :
Antec 1080 AMG
Antec True 480
Soyo Dragon Platinum
Athlon XP 2400+
Athlon XP Shim
MCX462+ Heatsink
Thermaltake Smart Fans...Original (2)
Mushkin 512MB Hi Perf Level 2
PC2700 DDR 222 (1)
Toshiba DVD
Plextor CD-R 48x
Zip 100
------------------------------
I have one Smart Fan on the Heatsink and another in the front of the case - the (2) rear fans are "stock"...
I am about to add the following card :
GAINWARD/CARDEXPERT GeForce 4, 8X AGP. Ti 4200,
3.6ns, 128MB DDR, Power Pack Golden Sample
ALSO : Thermaltake BLUE ORB VGA Chip / GPU Fan, heatsink + fan (add to the MotherBoard)
ALSO : Going to do a "RAID" w/WD WESTERN DIGITAL "SPECIAL EDITION" 80GB 7200RPM...8mb (2)
I was going to add more fans with the new videocard installation...My main problem is that the computer sits in the corner of the room inside one of those "stall" type enclosures in a big modular desk. The case fits into the section with hardly any airflow around it at all - The rear fans blow straight into the back room wall, and the side fan when installed, will have hardly any space to pull air as there is only about an inch of space between the case and the side of the desk...
I was wanting to get some suggestions as far as to what type of fans to install next - First in the "side", and then I do have another open space in the front next to the "Smart Fan" ?
I am open to suggestions as far as replacing "any" of the installed fans...The corner of the room doesn't get much a/c flow, so is a bit warmer than the interior temps of the room which is about 75º right now...I believe I am pretty much in a situation with restricted airflow "around" the case, but any help would be greatly appreciated.
Temps from the SOYO software read the following :
CPU 110º - 112º
Case 94º
Pic
(This is about as high as the temps have been - normally a few degrees cooler)
***The SOYO Monitor says it is running in the "software programmable mode"***
(I didn't install all this so I am not sure what is exactly set and the specs...???)
CPU Fan speed is about 3668 - 3750
The other fan speed is not registering - he said he couldn't get it to show up in the monitoring ?
From what I have read, that isn't a "critical situation" but I would like to do better if possible ? I am not a "gamer", just normal computing...
I am not looking for complete silence, but would like it to be fairly decent in the noise level department.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions !!!
