Help with case choice.

I am building a new system and I am trying to decide on a case for it. I've been reading a lot in the forums and some review sites and have narrowed it down to a few choices although I am still open to more. My basic requirements are:
1) No door. It's just a personal thing, I don't like the doors on cases.
2) Decently quiet. I am not looking for a completely silent computer, but I would like it quieter than normal. Therefore I am strongly trying to find cases with 120 mm fans.
3) I prefer the aluminum cases with the brushed silver look, although I could do black too.

Right now I am looking at the Lian Li V1000, the Coolermaster Praetorian, and the Silverstone SST-TJ02 as my top choices (not necessarily in that order, I go back and forth between which one I like most).

First the Lian Li. I like the exterior design of the case a lot and think the upside down thing is neat but I've heard a few things and I am wondering about the accuracy and truthfulness of these claims. a) lots of dust due to holes all over (which could be solved by blowing it with air every couple of weeks) b) limiting choices of PSU and heat from PSU spreads upwards onto the motherboard, making it hotter rather than cooler (although the anandtech review said it did in fact get cooler) and c) cables are sometimes not long enough. In addition to all this it is $100 more than the other cases. Is it worth it? How do I know what PSU's will fit and work well in this case?

Next the Coolermaster. From what I gather it is just a solid all around case. It is constructed well, looks good and cools well. However I am concerned that it will be fairly noisy because of it's three 80 mm fans. How noisy is the case? I would be willing to buy quieter aftermarket fans for it, if it would help reduce the noise significantly.

Finally the Silverstone. Really seems like a great case and it looks good although it's a steel frame with just an aluminum front. I had read a few things about poor ventilation, and a tight fit for everything in the case and the rails don't work too well. Also some people mentioned that having 4 ports in the front was actually a problem because it was limiting. Any truth in this. I think that right now this is my top choice though.

Well, there you have it. Just wondering what you all thought about these cases. Maybe some people who own them or have dealt with them could share their thoughts on what would be the best. Recommendations for other cases? I have looked at the Antec's and despite how quiet they are supposed to be I think there are other cases I prefer more and would rather own. Price is not a big concern (although I think the Lian Li is the getting close to the most I would pay) and I would be willing to change out the fans if this would help quiet it down significantly. Especially with the Coolermaster. Thanks for any advice.

P.S. This is my first post to the forums after a few months of browsing. Sorry if it is a bit long but I had a lot to say :) . Hope I didn't do anything wrong.

I like the coolermaster ones look the best. It has 4 case fans rather that 3 (2 front , 1 top, 1 rear).

P.S. Welcome to the forums.

you could also check out some of the more standard Lian-Li's (ie: brushed silver aluminum, but no holes).

I'm a big fan of the PCV-1100, but if I recall correctly, it has a door.

I had looked at the Kingwin but it's the same problem as the Coolermaster, all those fans. I just know it has to be noisy as hell. Not a big fan of the windows either.

Mik3y how noisey is the PCV1000. Had any of the dust problems that I heard about. What kind of PSU do you have in it? I read that because of the way it's setup you can't use power supplies with a top fan or with 120 mm fans.

Welcome to the Forums!

Personal opinion and based off of hard research for the past couple of weeks, I have chosen to go with the Lian Li V1000 because of the new design, wonderful look, and superior cooling with quiet 120mm fans. This case isn't exactly silent but it is not noisy either....understand?

The 120mm fans are able to push and pull more air than 80mm fans at a lower RPM which in turn drops noise quite a bit also.

I don't know if it is worth 200$ but after all the reviews and using all of my resources to find out what makes it a great case, it really does come out on top.

IMO ;)
