Help with car stereo design! Diagram included of what I have

Alright, I have a 2005 GMC Canyon Crew Cab and I'm planning on installing two amps, a capacitor, a subwoofer, etc etc. The run from battery to distribution block is ~15'. I already have the 1/0 wire, both amps and capacitor, so those items wouldn't change.


Here is a diagram of what I'm thinking the install should look like. I have a couple questions:

1) Is the capacitor really necessary? If so, is its place in the wiring diagram correct?

2) What size fuse should I be using?

3) Where is a good place online to buy the distribution block, fuse holder, and maybe a battery terminal? Something like Monoprice for car audio?

4) Recommendations for RCA cables to use? I'll need about 15' lengths.

1) Cap is a good idea. Lot of people will tell you it doesnt do anything, it does. Yes it is correctly wired.

2) 50 is about right, you can always add together the fuses on the amps.

3) Crutchfield is my friend.

4) Anything with some sort of shielding will work, monster is a ripoff. Just don't run the RCA and amp power wires bundled together. I typically run RCA down the center console, power down the side of the car.

5) What about removing the distribution block completely and just wiring the positive connections from the capacitor post? Electrically it's the same, but curious if anyone had reasons why it might be good to leave in.

6) When running speaker cables for the front/rear speakers, should the wire be run along the same path as the RCA cables from the deck? Maybe along the power wire? On the opposite side completely? Does it even matter?

STATUS UPDATE: I have all four factory speakers upgraded, currently powered off the receiver. Battery terminal has been replaced, and fuse block is installed with cable run from terminal to one side of the fuse. Next step, punch a hole in my firewall and run the cable through (not looking forward to this part).

someone explain to me why wiring the cap like that is proper wiring. I have more or less the same design, but I have the cap before the dist block, and then the dist block powers both my amps

Question 7) If I have a sub enclosure divided into two sections, I would wire the 2 Ohm subs in series so that they would be seen as a 4 Ohm load to my amplifier, correct?
