I bought the ADVC100 recently and today is the first day I really tried to use it. My PC is Athlon XP2000+, 512M RAM, a separate hard drive from the OS (Win XP) 120GB NTFS format for capturing. I have tried using Windows movie maker, DVIO as well as Adobe Premiere 6.0 to capture PAL video from ADVC100. At around 1 min, I noticed the preview becomes jerky and freezes ocasionally for all the different programs I used. Adobe Premiere and DVIO did not report any loss frame at all.
the hard drive I used is dedicated to capturing the video, no programs or OS run on that drive. Also I have closed all the programs before I start the capture.
That hard drive is connected to an ATA100 PCI adapter card instead of connecting to the motherboard directly. Will this make any difference?
Is my ADVC100 faulty and needs repair? Any suggestion? Thanks in advance.
