please help
I am getting cable next week

anyone know it the cable from the NIC to the cable box is straight or is it a cross over one. need to run it in before the cable guys get here . goodby dial up

No probs. Usually the cable modem is connected to the wall jack via an RG6 coaxial broadband cable(the same type as your cable TV), and the cable modem is connected to your NIC, or hub/switch/router's WAN input, with an RJ45 ethernet patch cable.
