help with building a computer

i'm building a computer for a friend. i connect everything correctly but when i turn on the power, there is no picture. the bios doesn't even show up. i tested the vid card on another computer and it worked.... i had to go back and get a different mobo, and it still had the same problem. the first mobo i tried was ecs 755-a2, and the next was asus k8n. big coinsidence or am i doing something wrong....please help

You're doing something wrong. Bring it over and I'll take a look at it.

the system specs are:

amd64 3200+
asus k8n mobo, and ecs 755-a2 mobo
ati radeon 9550
512 ram
350 watt psu...

i'm thinking the agp slots on both mobo's are coisidentally broke

lemme know if there is anything else you need to know, thanks

what brand is that 350w PSU, unless it's a very good one, that is likely part of the problem. Also, did you try with the bare minimums? Single stick of ram, video card, cpu and HSF..it that doesn't work, try with the minimums, but with the motherboard out side of the case, on a non conductive surface. Do you have the 4 pin 12v atx connector plugged in(square, with 2 yellow wires, and 2 black wires)?
