Hi all,

This is my first post. I read through a bunch of threads, but thought I'd post my specific needs.

1. What YOUR PC will be used for. That means what types of tasks you'll be performing.

Internet, word processing, streaming music via external USB sound card to my audio system, ripping and burning CD's and DVD's, future high-res music streaming. I need speed when multitasking (downloading a file or ripping/burning CD while surfing or writing or whatever). I need to store a lot of documents and a lot of 16/44.1 music and plan to add to my collection. Quiet running and energy efficient. Upgradable is important (can I add a good video card later? More RAM?)

2. What
YOUR budget is. A price range is acceptable as long as it's not more than a 20% spread

$700, including Widows 7 Home Premium 64 bit (parts only). Or $800-$850 if I order the machine built by AVA Direct. No keyboard/mouse/monitor included in this price.

3. What country
YOU will be buying YOUR parts from.

U.S.A.

4. IF
YOU have a brand preference. That means, are you an Intel-Fanboy, AMD-Fanboy, ATI-Fanboy, nVidia-Fanboy, Seagate-Fanboy, WD-Fanboy, etc.

No real brand preference, but quality matters. I like the looks/form of the Antec Three Hundred case, but am open to all suggestions.

5. If
YOU intend on using any of YOUR current parts, and if so, what those parts are.

None. New build.

6. IF
YOU have searched and/or read similar threads.

Yes.

7. IF
YOU plan on overclocking or run the system at default speeds.

Default is fine.

8. What resolution
YOU plan on gaming with.

No Gaming.

9. WHEN do you plan to build it?

As soon as possible.

10. Don't ask for a build configuration critique or rating if you are thin skinned.

Hey, I'm a writer and regularly put my heart's labor out there for others to rip to shreds. You ain't seen thick skin...

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
