Ok here it goes i threw the system together last night. And everything was running. So i called it a day. today on the other hand i tryed to format the system.

1. found out my floppy dont work.

So here i am trying to reformat the computer to xp pro. It hangs on a blue screen i think it said " checking system.... " well i kno it takes a while i guess i waited 15 mins and i said maybe it froze. so i rebooted and tried again. after that i have been getting video signal now on and off. ANd not its off constantly.

the fans, hard-drive, rom drives all spin. Not sure whats going on now. i need some help. anyone please?

oh and now it don't detect my hard-drive, which makes no sense because i haven't even touched the computer and it detected it before.

Ensure that the floppy's data cable has the red wire on Pin 1 at both the motherboard end and the drive itself. If the floppy's LED stays on all the time, its data cable is backwards at one end or the other. Also make sure the floppy's power cable didn't get pulled loose accidentally. And there is a twist in the floppy's data cable, the twist must be inbetween the drive and the motherboard.

Bigger picture: you can partition and format directly from Windows Setup, you should not need a floppy for that purpose.

i'm just going to leave the floppy disconnected for now. but what i find very very odd is that. i can turn the computer on and video signal can go thru it then i reboot and now no video signal.
