I pieced together a system for a friend looking at a similar budget. I think this falls in around $950 so there is room for changes based on your preferences. The system under full load should reach at most of 350-400w. First PSU is better bang for the buck antec green second PSU is their 750w psu that is on a bit of a deal this week at newegg.

Why spend almost 70 bucks more for a motherboard?
This one is cheaper an just about the same for what you are doing.
