help with boot 2000

I was building a computer for my friend, i turned it on and everything was working fine, but when i put the boot 2000 disc in it wouldn't load even though i changed it in the bios to cd rom. He has a dual layer dvd drives and a floppy. I even tried a windows 98 boot floppy and the disc and it wouldn't work. Is it because there dvd drives.

He has a :

DFI Lanpart Nf4 SLI DR
2 EVGA 7800gtx
3500 venice amd
seagate barracuda 250gb
2 lite on dvd drives
one samsung floppy drive
Creative sound card
2gb Ram Corsair XMS
Cooler Master 550watt

and yea... PLEASE HELP!!!!

you have 2 dvd drives? you might wanna try the other drive

What do you mean by "when i put the boot 2000 disc in it wouldn't load"? The CD wouldn't boot? The setup screen hanged? Is this a genuine bootable Windows 2000 CD?
