hi im not sure if technical support is the right place to be asking this question, but hopefully you gurus can answer it. I have azareus, and i use it to download torrents. My download speeds are extremely low, around 30-50 kb/s compared to my friends who have the same internet and get around 180 kb/s. Then one day, my download speeds went extremely high, but then my compuiter overheated and when i turned it back on the download speeds stayed normal. Can someone tell me what is wrong and how i could fix it? thanks a lot.

The only things that affect download speeds on torrents is the number of seeders of course, and whether you're port forwarding the necessary ports if you're using a router. Without port forwarding your download speeds will be limited.

BTW: 50 Kb/s is NOT slow. That's about average. Speeds over 100 Kb/s are pretty rare.

yeah my router config changed and i noticed i was gettin 1-5kb/s downloads most of the time sometimes jumpin to 15. Then I went back in and setup myself up and now get 100-150kb/s generally. Azareus makes my brothers computer reboot so I dont like it... try using a differnt torrent client
