Okay trying a couple different forums on this question.
System:
asus K8V SE Deluxe
AMD 3700 64
2Gig Gigaram PC3500
WD 74 Gig SATA
NEC DVD RW
Generic Floppy
BFG GE force 6800 Ultra OC

I isntalled everything including windows xp 64 and with some new drivers everything was working. Played a whole night on doom 3 no problems. Next morning i go to boot and get an error and wont load windows something about APIC problem with 64 bit operating systems. Checked and changed all bios settings no help. Did some research found out flashing with most up to date bios would help so i did. Got the bios from Asus' website and flashed it. The screen said erasing.....flashing..... flash failed. System locked, couldnt retry, couldnt do anything. Now the system wont do anything. No video no beeps, no othing except power up teh fans led's and cd drive. Did more research and found that I can still flash bios on this board by putting the ROM in teh floppy drive and it will flash automatically IF I can access teh floppy drive. I tried holding control home down as stated on AMI's website and tried alt-f2(comand to flash asus bios at tpost screen...although i have no post screen) and nothing i do gets floppy access and the LED on the floppy to light up. Swapped out all components and they all test good. tried a different floppy same results. Checked alll conections, same results, cleared CMOS with jumper and battery same results. IF anyone has any suggestions or tricks please let me know. Thanks.

Insert the asus driver cd that came with your board. It should load with a backup bios. You may have to press one of the "f" keys to activate it. Check their website for instructions.

In your owners' manual, the BIOS-recovery info is on page 4-5 and following, incidentally, but in this case it probably won't help. All you need to do is to start the computer with the mobo's CD in the drive and let it sit for long enough to do the flash (five minutes ought to do it) and then reboot.
