I need some help with updating the BIOS on my new PC. I'm using an A8R32-MVP Deluxe and I want to flash the BIOS to the new 0502 that was released a few days ago but I'm having some troubles. I'd really appreciate some help.

Well, unless someone can actually come over to your house, you'll need to be a little more specific about what kind of trouble you're having. :)

When it checks for the floppy when I press Alt+F2, it finds the floppy and accesses it but it then says that it can't find the BIOS .rom file on it. I remember saving it to the disk.

Oh, and I also formatted the disk to be bootable in MS-DOS, so I don't know what's up with it.

Have you looked at the floppy contents with Explorer to verify that the file is there?

The BIOS file needs to be extracted. Do I need to extract it to the floppy, or extract it first to the hard drive and then save it to the floppy, or not even extract it and save it to the floppy?

Either way will work. I have done both. I am always apprehensive about people flashing BIOSes when they have to ask questions like this. What is it that does not presently work right so as to warrant flashing the BIOS? (It's the old, "if it ain't broke" principle.)

I figured it out. My motherboard is now running with the 0502 BIOS version. Thanks for the help.

Excellent! Now you can smile and relax. Flashing a system BIOS always has some risk. Enjoy your Battlefield 2. :)
