Help with BFG 6600 GT hardware.

Hi guys, plzz i need an answer from an expert on this.

I live in europe, ii recently purchased a BFG Gefroce 6600 GT Oc (AGP) actually a friendthat lives in the USA bought for me and sent it. When i received it turned out that it will power up properly, but won't display anything on the screen ( Black screen) i checkec it, and in fact there's a component i guess it's marked ( R2) on it that is suppoed to be wired by it's sides to the PCB, one side is okay, but the second one is cut, I mean the wire betwenn that component and the PCB is cut, so i tried to put the wire in touch with component, turned on the Pc and voila it worked, Now i suppose it won't be long before it Relaxes and then they won't be in touch again. Soo I have to weld the two sides so they are in contact once and for all. I Really don't want to send it back all the way to the USa to Bfg and wait for another one. So can i do this wielding operation ? and what do i need to do it ? If you think it's hazardous to do it on my own, To what kind of shops or guys can i send the card so they can do the wielding ? Thanks alot

A quick soldering job should fix that. I don't know what that does to the warranty though.

Voids it. Of course, taking the card out of the US might also void the warranty.

If you can't (or don't want to) solder the card yourself, any electronics/TV repair shop should be able to handle it easily. A small job like that shouldn't cost you much.
