Hi I just bought two BFG 5500OC. One of them is a low profile longer card and the other one is the regular size card but shorter than the low profile one. They both have 128mb memory and should both be 128-bit, now I wonder which one should I keep? The low profile one has only two pieces of Samsung memory while the regular sized one has 4 same pieces of Samsung memory. Will one perform better than the other? Thanks for the help!

At stock speeds, there won't be a difference, but if you're overclocking. Take a look at the memory. See what lantecy it's rated for.

how can I tell the latency value from the memory... they both seem to have the same type of memory except one card use two pieces and the other uses four pieces...

also just wonder if this card is 64-bit or 128-bit? I can't find any info from the box nor the BFG website. I haven't open the box yet so don't know if the user manual would have the info. The only thing listed on the box is Dual 350mhz Ramdac, does it tell if it's 64 or 128 bit? Actually how's 350mhz Ramdac compares to 400mhz Ramdac?

The Fry's price tag on the box listed the item with DDR@400mhz but I don't know if such info is reliable. Thanks for all the help!

Also some webpage said this is not a Direct 9 card, so is it or it's D8 only?

I just open the box and the card has Samsung K4D551638F-TC50 ram and as I searched in Google, the Samsung website showed that the ram is with a speed of 200mhz 66pin TSOP-II. Page linked. Can someone please comment if this is a 64 or 128 bit ram?

The low profile also has 4 pieces of the same ram with 2 in front and 2 in back. However, there's a number on the upper right hand corner of the ram with the lower profile one has 443 and the regular sized one has 419. Can someone comment if this would make a difference. Is the regular sized one with a Square HSF better in quality than the low profiled one with a Circular HSF? Thanks very much for all the help!

I also just found from the Samsung site that the suffix TC50 stands for 5.0ns so the ram speed is 5.0ns. Is that good or fast? Please help thanks!

Hi, after reading more I think I kind of understand that the memory interface doesn't depend on the memory alone. I kept researching the Samsung memory and it showed as a 256MBit memory. However, I think the card is the main factor for determining the memory interface. Now I just wonder if someone can tell me what's the memory interface for the BFG 5500OC 128MB. I just want to know if I got one with 64 or 128 bit memory interface. Thanks!

it can be both... that would be hard to tell, but as according to rojak pot's card guide list, the bandwidth is 6.4 with 128 bit and 3.2 with 64 bit.

just wonder how may I check the bandwidth of the card? I tested the card with RivaTuner and in the main screen it say the card is "64-bit, NV3..." so I guess it may be a 64 bit card. I also did a 3DMark03 check and it scored a 1180 even I OC it to 310/450. I guess the card is not too great and I may get a used 9600 around the same price with much better performance.

Does anyone know how much would a 9600 score for 3DMark03? Thanks for all the help!
