Help with basic networking

I have two laptops connected to a wireless router, which is connected to a cable modem. The internet access works fine but I cannot network between the two computers. I've ran the 'Set up a home or small office network' for about ten times now but nothing seems to happen. Both computers have file-sharing allowed and each has a name. What am I doing wrong here?

EDIT: One laptop has Windows XP Home. The other has Windows XP Tablet PC.

Successful Sharing involves some general consideration in Network settings, http://www.ezlan.net/sharing.html

As well as specific adjustment of each computer according to what it is allowed to be shared.
