Question Help with audio production/gaming rig

Hi,

Not really a build-it-yourself question, but I hope you can help. One of my friends needs a new rig for playing games and audio production. He uses Reaper for audio production. Currently, his most demanding games are Cities:Skylines, and F1 2024.

Budget is 10K DKK (he will buy from Denmark), but he does not want to spend the entire budget unless there is a good reason.

He wants to configure a prebuilt from a reputable dealer - I know the Danish site MM-Vision, and they tend to be good.

He is currently looking at this one:

Since it will be used for audio production, I have suggested upgrading the PSU and CPU cooler:

Silent PSU upgrade (Asus ROG 550W 80plus gold )
Silent CPU upgrade (DeepCool AK400 Zero Dark)

Additionally, I have a couple SSDs laying around he can have (1TB Samsungs of some kind, IIRC), so I do not think he needs additional disk space right now.

My question are:

1. Is that a solid rig?
2. Does any of the other upgrades make sense? The CPU and GPU upgrades, especially.
3. Would one of their other options - https://www.mm-vision.dk/visiongaming/vision-bf24-gaming-computer - make more sense?

I'm not familiar with that software so I did a quick search and it looks like you can run Reaper on just about anything. So I don't think the PC components need to be geared towards the audio production side.

What resolution does he game at? That will determine the GPU requirement.

As for the build you linked. I wouldn't build a PC today with only 16GB of RAM or a 550W PSU unless I just absolutely had to pinch pennies. 32GB and 650W would be my minimum and even then probably would opt for a 750W to be safe in case a future GPU upgrade needed the extra power.

Also, the case used in the that build doesn't look like a great airflow case. Only the top is open? Hard to tell from the pictures.
