Help With ATI TV Out

I recently picked up an ATI Radeon 7000 64 MB DDR AGP card just for the TV Out feature. If you can believe it, this was an upgrade for me from an old ASUS 7100 32 MB SDRAM card that worked OK. I don't play any games so I didn't need anything fancy, I just wanted TV Out. I was able to get it hooked up OK and have sound to my receiver, I get a picture on the TV when the XP welcome window comes up, but the video on the TV pretty much freezes up when my wallpaper comes up. When I attempt to play a video using Power DVD or even Windows media player it never changes from the picture of my wallpaper. I had attempted to use theater mode with the original ATI software bundled with the card with no better results. I uninstalled the driver and got the latest version of Catalyst from ATI's website and have done no better with it. The newer software did not have theater mode but did have clone mode options, but they are greyed out with my setup. I ran across a software program called TVTool for NVidia based cards that supposedly fixes a similar problem with Nvidia cards. I'm running XP Pro on a SOYO KT333 Platinum Edition with an XP1700 and 512KB RAM. I was hoping someone out there may have run into this with ATI cards and hopefully might be able to suggest a solution. Thanks.

Well gee, I managed to get it to work. Not sure exactly what I did that made it work correctly. I raised the refresh rate from 60 to 75 and left the resolutiion at 800 x 600.
I know my TV doesn't or shouldn't support that resolution. The picture quality is actually quite good so I am very pleased. It was a cheap way to have a DVD player that will play everything including avi files on my computer. My DVD player wouldn't play burned DVD's either so this is great. Now I don't have to go buy the Sony player I had wanted. Of course it would be better than this, but maybe later.

"how did u change the refresh rate?"

In Control Panel go to display and click on the adapters tab. Click on list all modes and you will get a list of resolutions and refresh rates.
