Hi , I need to know if there is a differance between the ATI version of the card and manufacturers like Sapphire,Visiontek and alike. I know in the article on the card they said that the first 1000 units made were of a differant PCB board and not to buy that version of the card, but did not say anything about the differant manufacturers.
If anyone knows it would be a great help. thanks

I'd say that if there are performance differences, they're negligible at best. I've often heard of OEM brands being better overclockers as well, and cheaper.

As far as PCB differences, I wouldn't be too concered about getting one of those "first 1000" cards...heh.

I have a Sapphire 9500 Pro... runs great. Tried Cat 3.2 drivers and Windows was not happy with whatever ATI did so I reverted back to the CD drivers. May try the latest drivers sometime, we'll see.

likin' my built-by-ATI card. my first non-integrated ATI card, felt safer getting one made by them, besides it was cheaper at the time.

Later Sapphire ATI 9500 Pros are better than built-by-ATI ones. For instance, the power connector has been moved to the edge of the card on the sapphire one, giving you the chance to install the heatsinks on memory and overclok the crap out of it.
Sapphire has the best reviews as the not-built-by-ati card producer. Im (after extensive research) planning on gettin one on newegg for 179 OEM )
