help with asus p5ad2-e premium

have this new rig almost done but my earthlink dsl will not recognize the wifi or 2 connections. have powered down the modem and restarted everything. device manager shows no problems. i am about to pull out the 2 head hairs i have left

Call Earthlink tech support. They should take you through it step by step. A few questions:

Do you have a router, or is your network adapter connected directly to your DSL modem?

Are you sure your network adapter is recognizing your DSL modem or router?

You may find some useful info by running IPCONFIG. [ Start / Run / IPCONFIG ]. That should report the IP address to which your network adapter is connected.

i did talk to earthlink support the said power down modem and then connect to new computer power back up then turn on new computer. itried that with no luck. adapter to modem is the connection

Did you turn everything off or just the modem? Try a full power down and reboot.

Get back to Earthlink. They should keep a log of what you've tried so they'll know what to try next. Also, the info from IPCONFIG may be useful to them.

earthlink said it wasnt on there end if a problem powerthe modem down clears it. works right away with old computer nothing with new computer tried a full power down of everything ip config show nothing either computer
