Hi.
I've installed 2 maxtor sata diamond 9 plus 80GB, in intel raid controler, and i've set up to raid 0 stripping. Everything works fine, but the results in Sisoft Sandra 2004 are pittifull and show me results comparable to if i just had plain ide sata drive. I wonder if anything is wrong with this mobo, wich is rev 2.0. Other problem that i've had is that i can't make it work with my other 2 pata drives ( also maxtor ). The system just won't boot. All my settings in bios are correct. My bios version is 1014. Please help.
cheers from Portugal

I have the same board but not the same HD setup ..however you might want to try the latest bios 1014A I've heard alot of people having problems with 1014. 1011 is the most popular bios among overclockers.

I've so far only heard good things about 1014A , I will later today flash to 1014A using AsusUpdate

If you are going to flash the bios remember It's better to download the bios file first, and then use "Update bios from a file."

where do i get that biose? the last one asus site have is 1014, from december i guess.

I really think i've got a faulty board. If it was a bios problem other folks would had posted the problem.
---
Asus has got a strange habit of making good boards with bad bioses, and other nifty stuff. I just can't believe i've got 4 maxtor drives with problems.

cheers

Ops my bad there is no 1014A i just went to Asus website for the update myself lol I read it on another forum thread and the A was apperantly for AFUDOS

Anyways it could be worth flashing the bios make sure that the bootblock gets flashed also...some have had problems after flashing the bios to 1014 but when they used afudos and was sure about that the bootblock got flashed also then it seems to be ok for some. I will try it myself now and see if there is any change.
