help with asus p3v133

im currently using this mobo with celeron 1.2. g . but it can only run up to 850 mhz. do u think i'll be able to max my cpu or at least use 1.2 g if i flash the BIOS? TIA

I'm surprised you can run a Celeron 1.2GHz processor on the P3V133, since your motherboard does not support Tualatin processors (and it doesn't support Coppermine processors properly either for that matter...).

Since your Celeron should be clock locked, it should actually be running at its full frequency; the BIOS is simply displaying an incorrect speed. Check it with WCPUID to make sure.

In any case, you should upgrade to the latest BIOS, Version 1003 Beta 002.

Don't let the beta status put you off. Any BIOS upgrades made by ASUS after a board has been discontinued is almost always left as beta, even though they are perfectly stable.

i was able to update the bios using the link you gave me. however tried using wcpuid and the cpu speed is still 825mhz. sorry for the first post but i'm actually using INTEL CELERON 1.1GHZ FCPGA OEM and not 1.2 running at 850. probably have to play with the jumpers to get it working right coz right now i think it is running at 75 x 11=825 . will post for some update. thanks again
