Help with Arctic Silver Alumina

Hello everyone!

I just got my Arctic Silver Alumina yesterday and want to put on my CPU. However, I have the generic grease that came with my CPU fan (Themaltake's Volcano 6+ Cu) on there. My question is, what should I do to clean and prep my CPU for the Alumina? And Is there any other hints/tips for applying the stuff?

Thanks for any help or suggestions! 🙂

There's instructions for each Artic Silver product on their site. I used it when I put on my 6cu+ two weeks ago. Artic Silver

On the 6cu+ it's way too loud for me at 39dba. I picked up a new hsf b/c it was about the same price as getting a 60mm to 80mm fan adapter for the 6cu+. I got the gc68 I think it's called. Has a 28dba 80mm fan 30 cfm, hopefully getting here this coming week.
