I just rec'd an SX1030 without a manual. I can't figure out the drive rails. I'm trying to use them to install a CD-ROM drive.
How should they be mounted on the drive?
Should the metal end face the front or rear of the drive?
Once the rails are mounted, should the drive be inserted from the front of the cage or the rear of the cage?

Thanks

the metal end face towards the front of the case.
you will then install the CDROM from the front of the case,

push the cdrom all the way in, until the metal part of the rail gets stuck, then push the metal tip of both left&right rails to the center. It will then lock into the case.

lupin gave you the straight stuff, just open the door, snap out the plastic covers, worry the perforated metal cover loose with a screwdriver, and slide the (drive with rails) in right through the bezel. The metal ends click to lock, and are left visible, but slightly recessed. Unique!

If the missing manual was your only problem, you're doing better than I am with the Antec SX1030 I received last week!

1. No manuals.
2. Big chunk of styrofoam packing simply missing, meaning case could have moved all over the place during shipping.
3. Scratches on both sides of case exterior (one side's scratches are very minor, though.)
4. Power supply cage that's starting to separate. "Void if removed" sticker which wraps around from one side to another is already torn in two.
5. Missing screws in back and a March 28th packing date, lending further weight to my hunch that I'm not the first customer to have had his hands on this particular case.

Fortunately, onvia is cool as hell, and is sending me a new case Monday, before I've even had a chance to return the first one to them. Shipping's on them.

OT: I ordered the Antec KS282 case for only $60.86 from Onvia.com
[l/lhttp://www.onvia.com/usa/products/index.cfm?Task=ViewProduct&SearchText=antec%2520300w&IdCatalog=2447876[/l]

It arrived in one piece via UPS ground within 2 days (N California to Oregon, very fast I'd say). Just now opened it and everything appears to be in there. I saw the Antec 1030 in person at Fry's Electronics and it's beautiful but HUGE! I'm glad I got the perfect mix of size, quality and expansion possibilities with my Antec KS282 and to think I was prepared to spend up to $150 for my case, ha!

Antec sx1030 HUGE? Nah, merely big. Addtronics 7896, now that, that's Huge! I'm sure people with poor vision could easily mistake one for a file cabinet.

I have an SX-830 (which seems quite similar to the SX-1030).

There are a variety of power cables with the standard PC power plugs, some with two plugs, one with three plugs, etc.

Does it make any difference which you use for which card or drive? Should certain cards/drives be on different power cables?

I'm happy to say that the replacement for my damaged SX1030 arrived from Onvia, and everything is in much better shape this time around.

Now that I've had it a while, I've got to say that it's one sweet case! With the exception of the "cheesiest" I/O panel on earth.
I can't understand how Antec can put together such a nice all-around case and then put in such a sub-standard I/O panel.

Oh, well. Knowing what I know now, I'd still buy another without hesitation.

AznBruin03: Just call their customer support 800-number and explain the situation. They'll immediately get another one out to you, and issue a call tag for the first (UPS will make 3 attempts to pick it up.) This will all of course happen at no cost to yourself.
