Hello ATers, I was hoping you all can help me solve this network problem that I have.

Im using a verizon actiontek router as my main router (and DHCP server). I have 2 options of equipment that I can use with the T-mobile service. The first, and more preferred is the Linksys WRT54UG-TM router/voip combo unit. When I plug it in, via the Ethernet port on the Actiontek -> WAN on 54UG, everything works, but it creates 2 different networks, which cannot see each other (the 54UG assigns computers connected to it ip addresses of 192.168.0.xx, and the verizon router assigns 192.168.1.xx).

What I would like to do is to have only the Verizon Actiontek router assign DHCP, and have the Tmobile router just act as a bridge/AP. When I configure it as per these directions, it also works, but the VOIP does not, therefore I dont think its possible this way, at least keeping the VOIP at the same time. Any Ideas on how I can get this to work? The alternative device I could use only has 1 port and would kinda be a waste as I would need a switch. What do you guys think?

Thanks in advance!

You have 2 options, you can disable DHCP on the WRT54G and then plug an ethernet cable into one of the LAN ports (NOT the WAN) on the Linksys router. Or you can use the Linksys router as your main router and put the verizon actiontec router into bridge mode. The least complicated way is just to disable DHCP on the linksys and plug the verizon router into one of the LAN ports of the Linksys router.

Right. When I do that, it works, but the VOIP doesnt work in that configuration. Any other Ideas?

Then hook it up as you originally had to the WAN port of the linksys and use it as ONLY a VOIP box and make sure you don't plug anything into the other LAN ports and turn off the wireless (recommended) or you can put your verizon router into bridge mode and use the linksys as your primary router. You'll need to figure out if you have PPPOE or DHCP for your verizon modem. If PPPOE, you'll need to find out your PPPOE username & password.
