I'm trying to get a Celeron 900 working with my BH6, but and having problems. My basic system is:

Abit BH6 v1.0 motherboard (SS BIOS)
Gigabyte GA-6R7+ Sapphire Blue Slotket
Abit GeForce2 MX 400 video card
Creative Labs Soundblaster Live! 5.1 sound card

Previously I've been running a Celeron 433 overclocked to 600 and, hearing that others have had luck getting even Celeron 1.1ghz working on the BH6, figured that I could stick in a Celeron 900 and overclock it up to 1.2ghz. However, I can't even get the computer to boot up at 900. The video card bios info display and then the system just sits there. The slotket is seated properly (video bios doesn't show up when it isn't) and the chip gets a little warm so I know it's getting juice. Any tricks that I need to know to get it to recognize a CPU that isn't officially supported?

It should work. I run a C1000 @ 1120. Did you try clearing the CMOS? You can also try this. Put in a CPU that will boot. Go into the BIOS and pre-set all the values for the C900, then shutdown, put the new CPU in.

Do a clear CMOS.. may help your situation... if not.. you sure your heatsink is seated right?... my machine would only start booting then freeze when my heat sink clip broke...
I have a v1.01 bh6 and im running a 566 at 850...

I've tried clearing the CMOS. I've also tried setting the parameters with my working CPU, shutting down, swapping CPU's, and rebooting. Still I have had no success. Anybody have experience with the GigaByte GA-6R7PR Slotket? I don't think that's the problem, but one never knows. I've got the latest Bios. Any other ideas?

Is there a jumper on the slotket for bus speed? Make sure it's set to 100mhz. ( I know, pretty obvious)

Looks like there is also a jumper for you slotket for vcore, make sure that is set correctly.

All settings are theoretically correct. Unless anyone else has any great ideas I guess I'll be soon selling a (nearly) new retail Celeron 900. Grr.

It looks like only the pro version of the slotket has vcore adjustment. If your running the + version I don't think you can adjust your voltage to go low enough. I have a Celeron 900 in a v1.0 BH-6 running no problem with an Iwill 2 with vcore adjustment.

Make sure your slotket supports Coppermines, the Celeron 900 is treated as a cumine and not a celeron so make sure you have it jumpered to cumine if you can choose. Alot of the older slotkets can't take them so you may need to upgrade.
