Help with Abit BE6-II

I've been trying for the past 6 months to get a new system I built running. Abit BE6-II (latest bios flashed), Ati Rage Fury Maxx 64mb vid card, SB Live sound card (lastest drivers), Intel 733/133, Maxtor 40g hd/ata66 7200rpm. This was never stable. I know that Abit has a problem w/Maxtor drives, tried Quantum drive also still didn't work. Got a Asus CUSLC-C motherboard, used above components, up and running stable. Thanks to forums, chg HD's to Maxtor 45g/ata100 and Ati Radeon 32mb DDR still running stable. Now with all the extra gear tried the Abit again, different sound card(know it works),reformat hd, clean install Win98 lock up during boot. Came up "An internal STACK overflow has caused this session to be halted". Said to "chg the STACKS setting in your CONFIG.SYS file, and try again" Nothing was in my CONFIG.SYS file. Looked in Google, nothing helped. I'm assuming that the Maxtor hd are still the problem with the Abit board. Does anyone know? Sorry this is so long!

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I also picked up a PIII 700/100 not oc'd. Still didn't run right with this in. Thanks!
