help with a wireless network and windows xp

i have just set up a home network on 2 computers. i am running windows xp home edition on both of them. i have a linksys wireless router directly connected to the primary computer and a wireless network card connected to the other computer. i can access the internet with both computers but i cant get windows to set up a connection between the 2 to share files and printers. With the primary computer, at the command prompt, i can ping the second computer and the default gateway and get a reply back. But with the second computer i can only ping the default gateway and i get no reply when i try to ping the primary computer. i have used the "set up a home or small office network" link in windows several times and it has not worked. I am sharing the printer and the files i want on both computers but i still cant seem to get anywhere.
