A buddy of mine has this old HP pavilion model 6644 De. He lost the restore disks of coarse and his hard drive crashed. I was able to get most of the drivers except the on-board video driver for w98se. In fact compaq gives you no help by their website, except the mutimedia keyboard and a floppy controller driver. Can anyone help, I have him up and running except for this one thing.

There is one pci slot left and I am considering a cheap pci video card if the driver cannot be found and the slot does not conflict with the modem and/or nic in the other two slots.

I will check on the mobo brand. I looked it up and there was only a manual to download (which was no help) when I did a google search and a search on motherboards.org. I cannot remember right now.

I did put a cheap pci video card in it and got it going, except now there is no sound and no room for a sound card (3 slots, nic, modem and video card). If I cannot get the drivers for either the sound or video, I guess he doesn't need the moden and nic, maybe I can use one or the other for sound.

I sure wish HP did not make it so hard. I did this same thing for a buddy with a dell optiplex PII-400 and evrything was on the website for download - easy!!

Thanks
