My brother and I are thinking about a trip to Scotland (and possibly Ireland) this summer. Both of us have travelled internationally before but never to the UK or Ireland. We'll be there for about 10-14 days.

Basically, we just want to check out a bunch of castles and any other "neat" stuff we happen to stumble across.

Anyone have any tips for us (e.g tips on renting a car, getting a train pass, etc)?

Doesn't anyone have any tips for me? Surely someone here has been to the UK.

Hey, my buddy that sits next to me would know. He worked in Ireland for 6 months a little while back. I'll ask him when he gets back from break and post any relevant info he can give you.

Word.

Correction - he worked in Scotland (Edinborough).

He recommends "Mac Backpackers" tours - you can take either a 3 or 6 day tour which leaves from downtown Edinborough (he said to google it and you'd get tons of info). Apparently you see the best of the best on this tour.

He said to also not miss the Three Sisters pub while you're there.

If you're gonna google it, spell it right: Edinburgh
