Just got this tv model UN32F5500. Two questions:

1. Is it possible to completely disable the auto dimming feature?

2. On my Sony tv with a HDMI connection when I switch between standard def and high def the tv automatically adjusts the picture to fill the screen. Is it possible to have this tv do the same?

Sounds like very basic features, I am sure you can do it. Did you look through the features menu, check every setting there is? Then there is rtfm and if it still does not work, manufacturer hosted forums are goo place, you will often find actual Samsung people answering your questions

Yes, go in the TV's menu and turn off the eco options.

If you are talking about stretching 4:3 content to fit the 16:9 screen, then the concept is so disgusting I refuse to help. Do the right thing for your SD content and don't destroy its quality with fat faces. Black bars are your friend.

I don't know what is happening, but I like not having to manually zoom in to fix the picture.
