Help with a fresh windows 7 install

I just built a system w/ a Gigabyte GA-p55-ud3r mobo. I have an ide DVD drive and a WD caviar black 1TB Hard drive. So i start the windows install and windows asks for the Hard drive drivers. But no disk came w/ the drive. I downloaded the Acronis True imad WD frim the WD website... no dice. How do i install the drivers or windows???

Thanks!😀

Hard disks don't need drivers. Hard drive controller chipsets do (if they aren't standard, which most of them are). So you need to get drivers from your mobo company.

Asks for drivers, or is giving you an option to install drivers? As has been mentioned, if you were running a RAID array, you would need drivers. If you are not, you should be able to continue.

Can you get past this screen or is that as far as the install will go?

No it wont let us proceed.

ide mode or ahci or raid mode in bios for sata? set it to ide... i loaded 7 on 5 various config systems this weekend and never bumped into this...

this can't be something dumb like too big a partition? the biggest single disk i loaded to was a 120gb sata... others were partitions on other drives...

The settings in the bios for the SATA should look like this
