help with a Dell Dimension 9100

I am trying to fix a dimension 9100 that was handed down to me. The OS is broken, lots of corrupted files and windows will not boot. this machine came with no restore disks. I tried doing a reinstall of windows xp, but it doesnt find any HDs (no drivers for the controller). this machine has an nforce4 chipset. i am trying to download the drivers right now and get windows to load them during setup (not sure if i can). it has no floppy so that might be difficult. i looked on dells site for instructions on how to get the OS to reload from the restore partition, but using ctrl+f11 as described on their site doesnt work.

can anyone lend any advice? thanks!
