Hi,
I'm using a Dell 2007WFP which supports 1600X1050 and a Dell LCD TV W2600 which supports a 1280x768 resolution.
I have an X1900XTX catalyst 6.3

My problem is that I cannot get the monitors to use different resolution.
If I use the 2007wfp as the primary monitor, then both run the 1600X1050.
If I use the W2600 as the primary monitor, then both use the 1280X760 resolution.

Is it possible for both monitors to use different settings?
How?

What dual-monitor options do you have available in the Control Center? Horizontal span will run both at the same resolution, I think. There should be another option in there that is similar to that, but allows you to run at different resolutions. My nVidia panel has one call DualView that does that, maybe the ATi one has that as well.

The only option I see in order to have the same image on both displas is the "clone desktop" option.

If you're using Clone Desktop, then the only option is the have the same resolution, think about it you're 'cloning' the desktop so that each display is displaying exactly the same thing.

In Catalyst Control go to 'Displays Manager' and right click your secondary monitor and select Extend Desktop option.

Thanks ironfoot.

What I was trying to do was to display the same image at all times using different resolutions.
I guess the only way to do this, is by running different windows on both desktops?

You can't clone (display the same image) at different resolutions. So yeah, if you want the same thing on both screens you have to open up separate windows.
