Help with a $600 build please

I am a noob and I dont know anything about computers. I thought that I would join here and ask you guys to help me to choose parts for a $600 computer, since you obviously are all much more knowledgeable than I am. I will be using it for just everyday use, no gaming, I will be writing music on it and I have a really good midi keyboard that I use for that. I am in the USA, I dont have a brand preferance, just whatever is best. I will reuse my moniter, a 19 inch lcd, but I want new everything else, including the keyboard and mouse and speakers. I am getting a friend of mine to put it togetherand maybe overclock it, he has experience, so all I need to know is what to buy. Thanks!

Check around for other budget threads ($600 is a common pricepoint). Is the $600 before taxes/shipping?

Yes the $600 is after all expences, but I can stretch the budget some. I also dont know my way around these forums but I will look around thanks for the tip.
