Hi, trying to get some information, with very little myself, of a problem my friend is having. He installed a Pacific Digital 48X burner, a lite on, actually, but when he went to install Nero that came with it he got a 25001 error. He emailed Pac Dig and they refered him to a microsoft site for a fix. He has gone to Disneyland at the moment and I don't have the details, but for some reason something prevented installing the fix too. Anyway I know I don't have enough info to form an intelligent question, but in the interest of trying to help him when he gets back and I can get better details, is there anything you can glean from the following exchange between him and Pac Dig that can help me understand the over all nature of his problem What I do know is that he has an Abit bx6 board with highpoint (?) drivers, scsi so that the drives don't show up in the bios and somewhere either in installing nero or the microsoft fix he gets an insufficient memory error and or the drive cannot be accessed. I had him copu the nero install to the hard drive and that got the same 25001 error salso the cd is good. It will install on an even older computer he has. About all I can figure is that he is missing some component of windows which is odd because I just reinstalled it for him a couple of weekd ago. I think he had gotten a virus and almost lost his data hence the reinstall and the cdrw addition. Thanks for any help. This is his conversation with Pacific Digital:

Subject: Internal Error 25001
Dear Sirs, I recently purchased a CD Burner From Frys Electronics. When I went to install the Nero software an Internal Error 25001 came up--telling me there wasn't enough disk space to extract ISscript engine files. I have 22 gigs of free space on my hard drive. Could the CD be corrupt? I have 90% free resources in memory. Please respond asap. Thank you Larry.

STEP1
Windows Installer is not installed on the target computer. The installation process has changed for version 3.0 of the MSXML parser. The main setup program for MSXML 3.0 and subsequent releases is an MSI file that requires the Windows Installer.
"Download and install Windows Installer on the target computer prior to executing the MSXML 3.0 setup.
The Windows installer redistributable setup is available on the following Microsoft Web site at:
http://www.microsoft.com/msdownload/platformsdk/instmsi.htm
STEP2
Microsoft provides a patch to rectify the problem:
http://download.microsoft.com/download/msninvestor/Patch/1.0/WIN98/EN-US/mcrepair.EXE
When you run this executable and it prompts you to overwrite Newer files, click Yes for each file. Do not click No or No to All.
STEP3 Download the self-extracting executable DCOM98 for Windows 98 file from the Microsoft Download site.
