i went from 98 to 98se 2 weeks ago and ever since i am having prob with it crashing. it would crash up to 2-3 times a day usually freezing up or at times boot to a empty dos screen. i dont oc and here are my system specs. abit bh6 p3 733(133) ibm 75gxp 256RAM.
thanks

hmm..upgrading over existing 98 installs...even a simple upgrade to SE, is bound to cause problems. that's why i always do a fresh install after formatting when i upgrade OS's

do you have the 98se upgrade cd? or the full retail 98SE cd? if you have the full retail, i would highly suggest a re-install. there are usually just too many variables to pinpoint why you would be crashing, but you can be 99% guaranteed that re-installing would fix the problem.

You might want to try the System File Checker in your Windows Tools.
Start\Programs\Accessories\System Tools\System Info\Tools
It will tell you if any of the files are corrupt.

Any Win9X user must have the RegClean , Easy Cleaner and Clean System Directory These programs will always guarantee a clean working registry. If you are still crashing after running these programs start trimming your start up programs and look which program running in the background in causing it. Goodluck.
