Hi all I currently own a Canon t3i and want a video editing pc, mostly for music videos and live concert videos (5-15mins max on Adobe Premiere/After Effects) I will sell my current pc so the build would be from scratch. I was looking at these barebones from tigerdirect http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...Sort=3&Recs=10

But dont know where to start and dont know if I should choose AMDs 8core 3.60 instead http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...1&Sku=A79-8150
since I read that for the price it compares to some high end Intel i7's.

Future upgrades are foreseeable. When I get back some of the money that I will invest ;)

Thanks for your time, any additional tips would alot of help!

I'd wait to get a video card until (1) you're sure you really need one, and (2) the GTX 660 comes out for ~$300 in a month or two.

No, I have my monitor keyboard and mouse. With the benchmarks you gave me I searched for that processor and it comes in a bare bones kit http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...source=message but it bring 2 4GB RAM I want 16GB, I wish I could get 32GB but that would be stretching it for 950$ if I need the windows

EDIT** been thinking I should build it around http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc..._-14130687#top

On your budget, I'd say you should be focused on getting a good CPU and an SSD, and only then see if you have the cash left for a CUDA card, or indeed the need for one.

You didn't say whether you want to OC

So, do you need a Windows license?

Also, the serious deficiency in those TigerDirect barebones is that they all come with Ultra PSUs, which are crap. You're better off picking and choosing your own parts, perhaps using 2-item combos where both items make sense.
