help with 250gig hard drive

Okay I own a Maxtor Dimond 10 250gig hard drive (SATA2).

It is recognized by my bios (latest nforce4 bios) during boot up, but it does not show under windows.

I tried enabling large drive support using the maxtor utility, but that didtn't work either.

Note: this hard drive is my backup drive, with lots of programs and pictures. It was working fine yesterday, but aftering doing a clean install on my main drive (western digital), i can no longer access my maxtor sata2 drive. It doesn't even show up under windows at all, not even under device manger

can someone please help
