Help with 24pin power supply

I have a case that requires a "feed" from the MB. It's supposed to be attached to the 20pin socket of the MB, and has a parallel connection for th PSU side. I have a 24 pin MB and a 24 pin MB. The case's attachment thing only allows for 20 pins though. Is there a way to deal with this? Can I just plug in my 24 pin PSU to the 20 pin extension of the case thing?

Thanks for any help.

When you say main 20 pin connector, do you mean the PSU? Nope. The PSU has just one set of 24 pin. Does that mean I can't only connect the 20 pins and leave the 4 hanging?

What kind of "feed" is this? If you have a pass-through for the mobo and PSU, then what you could do is use a 24p to 20p to connect to the case (!?!), and then a 20p to 24p to connect to the mobo again. Would that work?

EDIT: Do you happen to have pics?
Tas.

Sorry, I don't have any pics. This thing for the case is basically like a 20 pin extension. One side male, one side female. One side is supposed to connect to the MB, and the other side is supposed to connect to the PSU. It's only 20 pin though. Both my MB and PSU have 24 pins.

Hi, Sounds like what you have is an extension for a PSU that wont reach the MB socket. If your PSU reaches then throw away the extension. You don't need it. Jim
