Ok.Here we go.

I did a lot of searching on forum but I didnt get the answer for my dilema. My CRT is out so I need the new monitor.

Now here is my question. All of 20.1WS Monitors have at lest 1680x1050 native res and 19" 1280x1024 native res.
With my system in sight I know my GPU cant do all the games in 1680x1050 with high details , but it can 1280x1024 and 1024x786.

What will hapen if I whant to run some game in 1280x1024 or 1024x786 or any other res then 1680x1050?

Can I do that? How will be the picture?

You know I realy whant to buy 20.1 SW because I like them a lot, much more then standard 19".

I know I wont get the problem running desktop on 20.1WS but my problem are the games.

Or I just buy 19" LCD and thats it!

Here are my choiches:

or

So guys help me out! Which of this 3.

Oh and sry for bad english,

OK THX!

But what will hapen when I run the res that isnt native?

Will be the picture very bad? Will be the games good looking?

I had a Dell 2405. Non native stuff, I would just run in a box in the center instead of letting the monitor resize it and introduce artifacts. But I would make that choice on a game by game basis.

LCD screens look pretty bad at anything other than their native resolution, as a rule. Some software and games will look OK though, I have a 19" widescreen monitor that has a native res of 1440 X 900 and BF2 runs at something like 1360 X 900 and it looks just fine.

You might want to consider a 19" widescreen, it's a nice balance between the 2 sizes and you get the benefit of a wide screen. Mine was only $200 out the door from a Staples B&M store.

ej thx.

If you resize it to full screen, does it realy look that bad?

Nah not in games for some reason. i was running battlefield in 1680 x 1050 (BF2 doesnt support Widescreen.) and it looked fine. alittle strenched but fine.

Id stick with the 20.1inch instead of a 19inch Ws.
