Problem #1: The lawnmover.. it's a 6hp 20" cut YardMan. It surges all the time it's running unless it's under a heavy load (really thick grass), and then it runs smooth, like it should. Would this be a dirty carb? Filter is clean and plug has less than 25 hours or so. This is driving me nuts!!
Problem #2. Homelite 725 string trimmer. Cranks and idles fine. If you quickly go from idle to full throttle, it bogs almost to the point of stalling. Then it "catches up" and runs fine. It's much worse when it's cold; once the engine has warmed up, it's not as bad. Trimmer also runs a little stronger at WOT under a heavy load than it does at WOT with no load on it. I suppose this is a carb jet problem.. but which one? High? Trimmer also has a clean filter, correct gas mixture, and a new plug with less than 12 hours.
Any help on either or both problems would be greatly appreciated, thanks!!
