Help with 1900+ oc

Senior member
I have a 1900+, a abit kr7a-133, and 512 ddr 266 ram. I dont have the stock cooling on there, i have a thermaltake dragon or something. Anyway, I have seen people say they can get it to at least 2 ghz, but i havent been able to get it above 1.8. I am definently new to this, so any help would be appreciated. Specifically, where should i start, as in which settings? All of the memory timings and things confuse me. Thanks for the help in advance.

what matters most is what stepping. some steppings are very very lousy, and you'll be pissing in the wind trying to ovreclock.

I am using the default multiplier, and the voltage is also default, I think it is 1.65. As to stepping, I have no idea what that is.

you have to loook at the chip. overclockers.com and its forums has info on steppings. use google as a shortcut. 1.65v? doesn't sound good.

Do you have a palomino or a T-Bred? Download Aida32 and find out what kind of cpu it is. It'll also tell you whether it's stepping A or B if you have a T-Bred.
