Help wit my dell p1110

I recently got my hands on the refurbished dell p1110 and I can't get the brightness to work right. My brightness settings are setted to 0 and yet it's still very very bright can someone help me out please? Heard there is some sort of debugging mode or something to set this.

I have been using a P1110 since Dec 2000 and it's a beautiful piece of equipment. I have my brightness on 5 I think. Make sure the color temp is 9300 and try using a gamma correction utility if needed.
