Help: Wireless setup intermittently loses signal

Router is connected to cable modem (Comcast). I have two routers that I have been switching back/forth w/ same problem (Netgear MR814 v2, and Microsoft b router). Seems problem starts when I set up for 128 WAP encryption. Previously been using router without any encryption and did not have problems. Using zonealarm, windows wirewall turned off (initially thought problem may be w/ windows firewall). MS firewall that came w/ the MS b router also turned off and problem persists.

So the problem: Every 3-5 minutes, I lose connection to wireless router and/or to network & computer is disconnected from internet. Computer is a Celeron lappy (Toshiba, 1.8 Ghz) with Sony wireless card. Signal is lost like for 5-10 seconds and then re-detects wireless signal. Have to right click on task-bar and connect to wireless router again to connect. This is really annoying as I've lost a few long emails that I wrote while signal is lost and e-mail (thr. hotmail, etc) is not sent/saved.

As stated, setup seems fine w/o encryption. Account setup for auto detect IP, etc..

Any suggestions?

In "Wireless Network Connection Properties" hit the "Configure" button for the network you're connected to, pick the "Authentication" tab, and uncheck "Enable IEEE 802.1x authentication for this network."
