hello. iam tryin to get working a wired n wireless Lan. this is how i have it hooked up. cable - router wired(running smoothwall) - nway switch -lan- wireless router for a ap- computers... problem iam havin is this
when i put the wireless router on the switch it seems to want to take over all puters on the lan. even tho the other computers r not hook to the wireless router .i knwo i can put the wireless router 1st in line then the smoothwall.org route but then not able to get to lan form laptop. i would like to be able to get to lan and servers and such from the laptop. wired router(smoothwall) is set to dhcp can not change this as i dont want to. smoothwall is asigning ip's to the network. wireless router is not set to dhcp and is asigned a ip from the smoothwall router.i hope i explain it the best i can . any ideas would be great .. ty
 
The peoblem is you have two DHCP servers. You have to disable DHCP service on one of them. Just use the Wi-fI router and remove the other. or set your Wi-fi router in bridge mode and you can connect from a single computer wirelessly
