HELP!!!!! WindowsXP stuck in Classic mode

Ok, computer froze, so I pressed reset button, rebooted, and now WindowsXP went into classic mode and is stuck in windows classic mode, I used to be running in XP mode, and now in the Appearance tab under display, has only Windows Classic mode as an option, why the hell did Windows XP mode get erased from the options? can anyone help me get back to XP mode? would really appreciate it.
