I uninstalled WJV because Acrobat Reader 6 was locking up everytime I tried to open a pdf link from within IE. Uninstalling WJV solved the problem.
Last night I changed something through regedit (unrelated to this). I didn't like the effect and used System Restore. Without thinking of it, the day I restored to was the day that I uninstalled WJV.
Now, when I click a pdf link in IE, the Acrobat 6 splash screen appears but freezes. A message box then appears that says "Preparing to install WJV." It runs this installation for about 5 seconds then tells me it can't find the target on the chosen network drive. If I choose cancel at any time, it simply starts the installation all over until it gets to the network drive problem.
I tried to open Acrobat thinking I could set it as the default for all pdf files, but even opening Acrobat alone causes the installation.
The only way to get it to stop is shutting off my computer with the power button.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Is there somewhere in the registry that has WJV set as the default for all pdf files?
