Help: Windows 7 original taskbar favorites disappeared

Not sure exactly how it happened, all the sudden the original/default taskbar application icons disappeared. The taskbar still shows start orb/button, toolbars shortcut I added, language bar and system tray. Without the taskbar application icons, I cannot find opened applications once they're minimized. I have to use alt+tab to find them.

Does anyone know how to fix it?
 
The taskbar itself is there. It's the application icons disappeared. In previous windows, those application icons/tabs on taskbar when an application is minimized. Those are missing.

Any solution?
