posting for my friend: he says
1) he was copying a large file between 2 different hard drives
2) bsod cmes up and said something about "dumping physical memory"
3) when he restarts and windows 2k starts up about 1/2 way and then gives him the error "inaccessable boot device"

this has happenened to him once before. anyone have any ideas?

tell him to boot from the win2k CD and then go into the recovery console and type this...

CHKDSK C: /P /R

worked for me when I had that error.

replace "C:" with something else if he doesn't boot off drive C:

thanks. i'll let him know.

do you have any idea why this happens? it's happened to him twice already and he was doing the same thing. however i've never heard of it happening to anyone else. is it a bug with widnows or some hardware glitch?
